Teak & Shine wraps outdoor furniture and structures for winter across the South Fork, from Montauk west to Quogue Village. Unlike the restoration side of the business, which is teak only, wrapping covers patio and terrace furniture, dining sets and lounge collections, BBQs and grills, outdoor kitchens, gazebos, pergolas, farm and yard equipment, umbrellas, firepits and side tables. The material is 7 mil shrink film, heat-shrunk to the shape of each piece with heat-welded seams and padding at corners and arm ends. The wrapping window on the East End runs from roughly Labor Day to the first sustained freeze, because heat-shrink film needs a dry surface and workable temperatures to shrink evenly; the calendar compresses because every seasonal property closes up in the same six weeks. Furniture should be cleaned before it is wrapped, since sealing a season of sunscreen, sap, pollen and spills against the wood concentrates staining rather than preventing it. Wrap removal in spring is available when a spring opening is booked: the wrap comes off, the furniture is cleaned and inspected, and maintenance needs are reported. Quotes are free from photographs texted to (631) 796-9505 and carry no obligation; any price quoted from photographs is provisional until the pieces are seen in person. Customers do not usually need to be present, provided the furniture is accessible. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
