Yes. Teak & Shine wraps outdoor furniture and structures across the South Fork from Montauk to Quogue Village. Restoration is teak only, but wrapping is not: patio furniture, dining and lounge sets, BBQs, outdoor kitchens, gazebos, pergolas and farm equipment are all wrapped.

What kind of shrink wrap do you use on outdoor furniture?

Seven mil shrink film, heat-shrunk to the shape of each piece with heat-welded seams, and padding at corners and arm ends so the film is not resting against the points it would otherwise wear against.

When is the best time to shrink wrap patio furniture in the Hamptons?

Between roughly Labor Day and the first sustained freeze. Heat-shrink film needs a dry surface and workable temperatures to shrink evenly and seal properly, and the calendar compresses because every seasonal property on the East End closes up in the same six weeks.

Do you remove the shrink wrap in the spring?

Yes, when a spring opening is booked. On that visit the wrap is removed, the furniture is cleaned and inspected, and we report what maintenance it needs for the season.

Do you pressure wash teak furniture?

No. High-pressure blasting tears the soft grain and leaves a fuzzy, splintery surface that traps dirt and mildew faster than before. Teak & Shine uses a two-step chemical hand-cleaning process that lifts growth out of the pores without eroding the wood.

My teak has turned grey. Is it ruined?

No. Greying is a surface-level weathering layer; the wood underneath is unchanged. Cleaning and brightening removes it, and sanding levels the grain so the original colour returns.

What is the difference between cleaning and full restoration?

Accepted Answer

Clean & Brighten is a gentle hand wash with a brightening treatment, and it does not remove heavy deep-grain staining. Full Restoration adds deep cleaning, two-step brightening, and hand and machine sanding to level the grain.

Should I seal my teak or let it go silver?

Both are valid. High-quality teak weathers to a silver-grey patina without losing durability. If you want the golden honey tone kept, a marine-grade sealer gives roughly 2 to 4 months of protection in heavy sun and up to 6 months in moderate sun.
